There I was, sprawled out on my bed like Leonard Di Vinci's Vitruvian Man, staring lethargically at the stucco texture of the ceiling as an episode of X-Files plays on the television. I tried my best to concentrate on the particular adventure Agents Scully and Mulder have undergone, yet a certain potent substance has rendered me completely inert. The only thing that seemed to be in motion (at quite an accelerated pace) was my thoughts. Each fleeting scene, euphoric and dreadful, circled my mind at high speeds like NASCAR's Daytona 500. I fully understand that once one embarks on the edible journey, there is absolutely no turning back.

It started out with just one square, out of the total nine which comprised the bar. Usually edibles are a hit and miss. Negatively speaking, they either lack the potency for a long-lasting ride or the flavor which masks the overbearing taste of the herb or oil. Alas, Punch Edibles has somehow concocted a gourmet delicacy which has the best of both worlds. The flavor I had was tangerine, dark chocolate. When I first bit into the delectable treat, my eyes immediately widened due to quality of the product. The sweet flavor of tangerine and the sharp, bitterness of the dark chocolate created quite a complementing balance. And to my pleasant surprise, I was high in a little more than half an hour. The tingling body sensation made me feel as light as an astronaut in space, yet I was still grounded and capable enough to comprehend my surroundings. And it was off of only one square! So, deciding to stray towards the wild side, I ate two more pieces.

After about an hour or so, there was progressing difficulty in moving my limbs, my equilibrium began to slightly shift and stir. I was blindsided by the powerful punch this piece of chocolate packed, which appropriately lives up to its name. As if I was knocked out by Mike Tyson himself, I was down for the count physically. Mentally, the edible broke down the barriers and unleashed the rapid flow of thoughts. And you know when an edible has done a fine job when you awaken the following morning still feeling the remnants of the high.

My friends at Punch Edibles have conceived a square both powerfully effective and equally delicious. They have over 4000 followers on Instagram and have made their presence known in local weed events. I've known these guys for well over a decade and aside from their uncanny drive to succeed and ability to start the party wherever they step foot, love is the foundation due to the amount of passion and care behind their actions. They've established themselves in the medical marijuana community, with their chocolates being sold in more than 60 dispensaries. And with the legalization of marijuana slowly but surely making its rounds throughout the country, these are the pioneer times of the industry and opportunities are widespread.

I must admit, Punch Edibles is a force to be reckoned with.
